VNR Project

In July 2019, Mauritius was amongst the 51 countries which was selected to present the first Voluntary National Review (VNR) at the High Level Development Forum (HLPF) of the ECOSOC in New York, in line with its commitment to the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, commonly referred to as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Mauritius VNR project was headed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade who also worked in close collaboration with the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI). Successfully delivering the annual reports of MCCI for years, Uncut was recommended by the latter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to collaborate on this prestigious report.

This 140-page challenging report was one which had to be in conjunction with the Secretary-General’s proposal for voluntary common reporting guidelines for voluntary national reviews at the HLPF. Prepared through a collaborative effort with the officers of the Ministry of External Affairs, Uncut had to toil through a strict timeline while experiencing various challenges with the different stakeholders involved to work through this report starting from its design conceptualisation, layout, pictures and infographics while ensuring that quality was maintained the whole time.
Days and nights were merged into one as well as offices to finally come out with this high-level national report presented by The Honourable Nandcoomar BODHA, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and International Trade, to the World. Uncut was honoured and praised by the concerned Ministry after this achievement.
